Fashion and History Mélange (Today, Friday, Oct. 18, 2007) : Karl Lagerfeld arrived in Beijing this week to present the Fendi collection for summer 2008. What makes this fashion show particularly special is not only that the event reconfirms Lagerfeld’s moonlighting at Fendi but also that the collection will be presented by 88 models on one of the 7 wonders of the world “The Great Wall Of China”.

In anticipation of the Olympic games in the Chinese capital, mascots, comedians and sweet treats are omnipresent in Beijing tourist spots, and will provide a fun and alternative opportunity for the Fendi team to relax and enjoy themselves.

Close to the forbidden city, the collection and the show was rehearsed, tried and tested in the grand ballroom at Hyatt. Where we could see “Model fusion” in action: half of the models are Chinese and the other half come from the four corners of the globe…

Last wednesday morning, Fendi team visited the venue of upcoming Olympic games, and in the afternoon there was the final rehearsals on "The Great Wall".
