Needs for your Age

Date:   November 29, 2007

Women in 20s

--Some lucky ones had their battle with acne in their teen years, but some unlucky women in their twenties still suffer from adult acne due to hormones, pregnancy or birth control pills. Find a way to conquer acne pimples, consult dermatologist if problem goes out of control.

--It's time to change your daily routine. The skin care routine that we followed in our teens may not be right in our twenties. Change your regimen according to your skin type.

--A good basic skin-care routine at this age includes religiously following these steps – cleanser, toner, exfoliator, moisturizer.

--A sunscreen is a must at any age. It is the most important to protect your skin at this age so that your skin looks healthier when you grow old.

--Next important thing is eye cream , as the eye-area skin becomes drier, you'll need to use an eye cream to preserve beautiful sparkling eyes. To prevent puffiness and dark circles, you need an eye gel.

--To get bright and radiant skin cleansing is the key. Exfoliate twice a week and use a hydrating mask once a week – with the slowing down of cell turnover and sebum production, fine lines start to show.

Women in 30s

--Your skin shows apparent signs of loss of collagen and elasticity and it results in fine lines around the eyes and lips.

--The right time to start a skin routine that includes light concentrations of glycolic acid or Retin-A, which help reduce the appearance of fine lines and give the skin a smoother, more supple look.

--Large pores is a common problem at this age. You can not shrink the large pores but can make their appearance less obvious by applying loose powder or foundation. But do not overdo the foundation it would leave a very chalky look on your face.

--It is time to pay extra attention to keep your skin hydrated. If you have dry skin replace your daily moisturizer with rich cream. Do not neglect your face at night, apply night cream.

--Your eyes show your age if you do not take care of them. Use eye cream under your eye make up to conceal fine lines.

--It's important to maintain a balanced diet rich in antioxidants such as vitamins A, B, C and E, which fight off free radicals in the environment.

--Make sure you're getting enough sleep - we all know how 8 hours good night's sleep improves our complexion.

--Give your hair a simple treatment once a fortnight. You would see some gray strands of hair. Do not wait, start to use safe and natural dye to cover the grays.

--Spider veins are red and purple blood vessels that occur in patches on the legs and face as we age. These are not threat to health but it is always good to possess knowledge to prevent the problem. It is very important that you take steps today to keep the problem at bay.

--Stretch marks is another problem faced by women those who are aging. There is no way to cure stretch marks 100 percent but the appearance can be diminished by regular massage with cocoa butter.

Women in 40s

--As we age our skin looses it's elasticity and get thinner. You may notice creases on your forehead and smile lines around your mouth. Our skin produces less and less oil as we age, and our skin begins to feel dry and texture changes.

--Few age spots and spider veins may appear on your face or hands which is the result of years of exposure to the sun.

--Many women in their forties develop rosacea. This is a condition which has a treatment if not neglected for long.

--You could also try using a cream containing alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), or fruit acids, which help strip the dead outer epidermal cells away by dissolving protein bonds, leaving your face looking 'fresher' and 'younger'.

--Flatter your face by wearing color and a more forgiving hairstyle. It is good to be trendy and yet sophisticated.

--Serums, intensive moisturizers and night treatments are necessary to keep the skin's surface smooth and provide extra reinforcement.

Women in 50s

--Take extra care with your skin at this stage in life.

--You skin gets not only much more fragile, it's physically less sensitive too, and, therefore, more vulnerable to bruising and tearing.

--At this age your skin would take longer to heal itself.
